Department Of Public Safety Thanksgiving 2014 Weekend Wrap Up

NMDPS News:

SANTA FE – Over the Thanksgiving weekend, New Mexico State Police and Motor Transportation Police were proactive in making it a safe one for New Mexico residents, visitors and travelers.

Following is a breakdown of the weekend wrap up:

New Mexico State Police:

  • Fatal Crashes – 1
  • Crashes with injures – 14
  • Non-injury crashes – 58
  • DWI arrests – 44
  • Cell phone use citations – 10
  • Speeding citations – 2,705
  • No seatbelt citations – 239
  • Saturation patrols – 26

Motor Transportation Police:

  • Crashes with injuries – 1
  • Non-injury crashes – 5
  • Commercial motor vehicle inspections conducted – 500
  • Commercial motor vehicles out of service – 89
  • Commercial motor vehicle drivers out of service – 28
  • Speeding citations – 134
  • No seatbelt citations – 15
