DNCU News:
SANTA FE—Del Norte Credit Union (DNCU), the healthiest credit union in New Mexico as ranked by DepositAccounts.com in 2014, has purchased land to build a new branch in White Rock.
DNCU’s longstanding history with White Rock members dates back to the mid ‘70s. Investing in a new branch, rather than continuing to lease space for the branch, strengthens DNCU’s commitment to White Rock members. The new White Rock branch will be located on the vacant SE corner of Rover Blvd. and NM4, directly across the road from where a leased branch currently resides.
DNCU will announce groundbreaking plans for the new facility in the near future—with an anticipated build start date in late summer. Designed to complement the DNCU Los Alamos branch with buff and red stucco and stacked stone, it will also feature a powerful curved stone wall, paying tribute to the area’s rich Pueblo culture. In contrast, sharp geometric forms that reach skyward are a contemporary nod to the technological heritage of the area.
The new 2,500-square-foot branch will be a full-service faciilty with three teller stations, two drive-thru lanes, ATM service, night deposit drop box service and local lending offices. The White Rock team with their familiar faces will continue to serve the community, making it a seamless transition to the new digs. Along with all DNCU branches, the new White Rock branch will be a member of the Co-op shared branching network and will welcome the business of other credit union members and travellers.
“We are excited and proud to strengthen our presence in White Rock,” says DNCU CEO/President Chuck Valenti. “The building of our own branch reinforces our commitment to the area—which dates back to the formation of the original credit union in 1954.” Roger Stutz, Chairman of the DNCU Supervisory Committee, echoes Valenti’s sentiment. “The time seems right to augment our commitment. We will continue to invest in the communities we serve, especially right here in the roots of Del Norte.”
