CHAMBER News:

The deadline to participate in the next Business Accelerator program has been extended to this Sunday, Jan. 7.

Entrepreneurs with a goal of opening a storefront in Los Alamos and White Rock are encouraged to sign up for this program organized by Los Alamos MainStreet and Creative District, as well as the Chamber of Commerce.

This year’s cohort will focus on food & beverage, but all are welcome to participate. Entrepreneurs should be at a stage where they have begun working on a Business Plan. The application may be accessed at www.LosAlamosMainStreet.com/business-accelerator

The Phase I coursework will begin Jan. 24, and will be held every Wednesday evening for 8 weeks. This free course covers everything from customer discovery and operational strategies to permitting, lease agreements and finances. Although the content will have a heavy focus on food & beverage, it will include vital information, applicable to all businesses considering operating in Los Alamos County. The classes are held 5:30-7:30 p.m. at the projectY coworking space.

After the Phase I classes, Phase II will focus on food and beverage based businesses by giving residency opportunities in a commercial kitchen.

Sponsored by the New Mexico Economic Development Department through its LEADS program, New Mexico MainStreet, Enterprise Bank & Trust, Del Norte Credit Union and Triad National Security (LANL CPO) this program, now in its third year, has educated over 20 would-be business owners and assisted five in opening storefronts in Los Alamos and White Rock.

If interested in participating in the Los Alamos Business Accelerator, apply before Jan. 7! For more information and the application visit: www.LosAlamosMainStreet.com/business-accelerator
