The “official” time to change clocks is 2 a.m., Sunday but most residents set their clocks ahead one hour before they retire for the night.

Time To Change Batteries

Local fire departments encourage residents to not forget to change batteries in their smoke alarms and carbon monoxide detectors at the same time they change their clocks.

First responders point out that about two-thirds of home fire deaths result from fires in homes with inoperable or no smoke alarms present.
