Davey Trees To Audit DPU Pole Attachments

COUNTY News:

Beginning next week, Davey Tree Service Inc, under contract with the Los Alamos Department of Public Utilities, will audit all utility pole attachments and identify potential powerline hazards in the Los Alamos townsite and White Rock area. This includes auditing attachments from telecom and cable utility companies.

DPU officials ask for customer cooperation, in permitting the contractor to access DPU poles located in customer back yards. Davey Trees’ crew will knock on the front door prior to entering a back yard to access a DPU pole. As a requirement of the audit, DPU notes that the contractor will be taking photographs to document poles, attachments and hazards. Weather permitting, the pole audit will continue through mid-December.

The contractor will have identification and work only along the pole line and utility right-of-way area. Under no circumstance will personnel request or have a need to enter a customer’s home. Questions or concerns may be directed to the DPU at 505.662.8333 or CustomerCare@lacnm.us.
