Daily Postcard: View Of ‘Strawberry Moon’

Daily Postcard: View of the ‘Strawberry Moon’ at 1:30 a.m. today from White Rock. The full Strawberry Moon will appear at 1:12 p.m. today, according to solarsystem.nasa.gov. As seen from the northern hemisphere, the Strawberry Moon —so-called because it’s harvest time for the soft fruit—will be the latest-rising, and among the largest-looking full Moons of 2020. The fact that this is the nearest full Moon to the Summer solstice—when the Sun is at its highest in the sky—means this Strawberry Moon is one of the latest rising, and lowest full Moons of the year.
