Daily Postcard: The village of Las Trampas was founded by 12 families in 1751. Nine years later, construction began on this, the monumental San Jose de Gracia church. It was a huge undertaking … the adobe walls are four to six feet thick and reach a height of 34 feet. It was completed in 1776 and has been a place of piety, refuge, and beauty ever since.
