Daily Postcard: Abert’s squirrels have some nifty ways of staying cozy this time of year. During the fall, they accumulate extra weight to help keep them warm during the winter season. Their coats also grow thicker, and they get their unique tufted ears. Abert’s squirrels build large nests of twigs and sticks high in trees lined with soft pine down. Sounds nice and warm to us!
