The annual Los Alamos CROP Hunger Walk & Turkey Trot is 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 20 at Los Alamos Middle School.
Registration to participate in the event begins at 1 p.m. at LAMS.
The Los Alamos CROP Hunger Walk was started in 1997 by Los Alamos resident Aaron Goldman and was soon combined with the long-standing annual Turkey Trot. The event is held each year to remember those who struggle to feed themselves or to find water. The event also raises money through donations given by friends and family in support of the walkers and runners. Donations are received from the participants themselves. Monetary gifts and donations of non-perishable food are used to support those in need.
