COUNTY News:
Los Alamos County Traffic and Streets Division crews will be testing school zone flashing lights County-wide Aug. 10-11 in preparation for the upcoming school year.
If motorists notice the lights flashing during hours outside of a normal school day over these two days, be advised this is a standard procedure for testing the lights and there is no need to report the activity.
Crews will be working near busy streets while testing the lights; please slow down and use caution.
School begins Thursday, Aug. 12. Motorists are reminded to watch for lower speeds posted within school zones, especially when lights are flashing, and asked to be aware of children walking to/from School.
Los Alamos police will be patrolling local school zones for compliance to posted speed signs.
