Crew Of HMS Implacable Collecting Toys For Tots During Winterfest Light Parade

Members of the Royal Manticoran Navy’s local ‘ship’ the HMS Implacable, are collecting Toys for Tots through donation boxes around Los Alamos (click for locations) and in person this season. Two crew members, Capt. Bill Knight, above, and Lt. Sam Connan, below, were collecting toys Friday at Smith’s Marketplace. Last year the fan group, which celebrates the novels of David Weber, collected around 1,400 toys. ‘We are hoping to meet or exceed last year’s amount, so we’re adding more events and additional donation sites to our campaign, and we’re placing a float in the Los Alamos Holiday Lights parade this year,’ Knight said. The crew is asking for those who can help out to bring donations of new, unwrapped toys to the parade, where they will be collected by crew members walking beside their float. Photo by Bonnie J.
