Write Your Heart Out
Learn to write haiku
in simple brush lettering
using sumi ink.
Join the “Haiku Brush Lettering Workshop” with Rod Torrez 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Saturday at Fuller Lodge Art Center and compose your own haiku!
Students will create a finished work of art including a haiku poem just in time to celebrate poetry month. You are welcome to bring your own haiku or to select one from a book Torrez will bring. Calligraphy, the art of decorative handwriting, is derived from the Greek kalligraphia, a person who writes beautifully.
Torrez has practiced calligraphy for many years and is excited to introduce others to the practice, as well as to work with those experienced in the art. Cost for the class is $60 plus supply list. Call the Art Center for more information or to sign up at 505.662.1635.
