Portions Of Los Alamos Golf Course Remain Open For Practice, Shopping & Dining During Restoration Project

Golfers can use the practice range and the main putting green.

Los Alamos County officials confirm that while most of the Los Alamos County Golf Course remains closed to allow newly installed turf to take root, several amenities remain open to the public.

Golfers can enjoy the practice range and main putting green, which remain open for individual and group practice. Range balls are available 8:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Monday through Saturday. The range closes at 3:30 p.m. Sundays, to allow for mowing preparation on Monday mornings.

Pavement Sagging Under N.M. 4 Westbound In White Rock

COUNTY News:

The County has announced that a water leak under the westbound lane of N.M. 4 in White Rock is causing the pavement to sag. The underground water pipeline under this section of road was replaced earlier this year.

Wagner Construction, the Minnesota-based company contracted by Los Alamos Department of Public Utilities for the work, has mobilized crews expected to arrive Friday afternoon in Los Alamos.

In the meantime, the westbound lane was closed for a short period this afternoon so steel plates could be placed over the sagging section until the contractor arrives to make repairs. Read More

Feral Cattle Roundup June 14 In Bayo & Pueblo Canyons

On Saturday, June 14, operations will begin to safely and humanely remove the remaining feral cattle from Bayo and Pueblo Canyons.

For the safety of recreational users and contractors, the Bayo and Pueblo Canyon Trails will be closed.

Also, access from the N.M. 502 gate into Pueblo Canyon will be closed. The County anticipates the trails will reopen Monday, June 23.

Broadband Project Construction Expected To Begin June 2026

The community broadband project is in the planning stages, but Broadband Manager Jerry Smith reported to Los Alamos County Council in May that construction is tentatively scheduled to begin June 2026.

Los Alamos County has partnered with Sloane Consulting Group to develop a comprehensive Master Plan for Guaje Pines Cemetery, located at 901 Range Rd.
