County On 2-Hour Delay Due To Inclement Weather

COUNTY News:

Due to inclement weather, Los Alamos County Manager Anne Laurent has enacted a two-hour delayed start time today, March 15, for non-essential county government facilities and services.

Additional Information On County Services:

  • Atomic City Transit fixed route service will attempt to start at 7 a.m.depending on road conditions. For specific route information, visit www.AtomicCityTransit.com or check ACTracker.   
  • Residential and commercial trash collection will operate as usual. Residents whose collection day is Friday should have their carts out by 8 a.m.
  • The Aquatic Center will open at 8 a.m.
  • The Mesa Public Library and the White Rock Branch will open at 10 a.m., their regular time.
  • The Golf Course Pro Shop will open at 10 a.m. The course will be closed for golf but open for cross-country skiing if there is enough snow.
  • The Eco Transfer Station will open at 10 a.m.

County Traffic and Street crews will continue to clear the major roads and streets according to the FY24 Snow and Ice Control Plan. The community can help facilitate snow removal by parking vehicles off the street.

The County’s MyDrive site individuals to view the conditions of major roadways within Los Alamos County. Users should select the intersection image to activate the live feed on Rumble.

Drivers are asked to slow down and be cautious of hazardous conditions.
