COUNTY News:
In observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Los Alamos County government offices and services will join other federal, state, and local governments and close on Monday, Jan. 19, 2026.
The County’s administrative offices, Atomic City Transit service, and the Environmental Services division are closed on Monday.
In addition, the following facilities will close or have modified hours:
- White Rock and Mesa libraries – Open 1 p.m. To 5 p.m.
- Aquatic Center – Open 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.
- Los Alamos County Ice Rink – Open 12 p.m. to 5 p.m.
- Golf Course and Golf Shop – Closed
Utilities will be closed for regular business, however crews are on-call for emergencies 24/7 by calling 505.662.8222.
Environmental Services commercial/residential refuse/recycle services will resume on Tuesday, Jan. 20. If the observed date falls on your normal trash day, place your materials out on Wednesday, Jan. 21.
Atomic City Transit – No service will be available. Regular services will resume Tuesday, Jan. 20.
