County Non-Eessential Government Facilities Closed At 2 PM Today Due To Hazardous Weather Conditions

COUNTY News:

Los Alamos, New Mexico — Los Alamos County Manager Steven Lynne ordered the closure of all non-essential County government facilities at 2 p.m. today, Jan. 4, due to hazardous weather conditions.

The Los Alamos Eco Transfer station also shut down today at 2 p.m. along with the other county facilities.

Officials advise that the Atomic City Transit services, however, will continue to operate as scheduled. Residential and commercial trash was successfully collected today.

County Traffic and Street crews will continue to clear the major roads and streets according to the FY24 Snow and Ice Control Plan. The community can help facilitate snow removal by parking vehicles off the street.

The County’s MyDrive site allows individuals to view the conditions of major roadways within Los Alamos County. Users should select the intersection image to activate the live feed on Rumble. Drivers are asked to slow down and be cautious of hazardous conditions.
