COUNTY News:
Los Alamos County would like to remind the public the first of two open houses will be held tonight, March 10, in White Rock, for the public to learn about capital improvement projects (CIP) under development and recently completed, along with other active projects in the community included in the projected Fiscal Year 2026 budget.
Residents are encouraged to drop in between 5:30 and 7:30 p.m. and engage with County staff
- TONIGHT: Monday, March 10, at White Rock Fire Station 3 (129 NM4, White Rock).
- NEXT WEEK: Monday, March 17, at the Municipal Building, Council Chambers (1000 Central Ave., Los Alamos).
These open houses provide an opportunity for the public to learn about and ask questions on a variety of infrastructure, road, facility, and sustainability projects. Featured projects include:
Infrastructure improvement projects:
- Golf Course improvements
- Ice Rink Shade Structure
- Manhattan Project Dormitory
- waterline replacement and fiber installation along NM4
- Jemez Mountain Fire Protection project
- Fire Station 4
The Community Broadband Network, an initiative to provide fiber-to-the-premises for reliable, high-speed internet access to every residence and business that opts in.
Facility maintenance projects and small capital projects:
- Betty Ehart Senior Center improvements
- White Rock Visitor Center Shuttle Stop
- recreation and park enhancements
- library upgrades
In addition, the County’s Sustainability Manager will be available to provide updates on efforts to implement the adopted Climate Action Plan and installation of the new Electric Vehicle Charging Stations throughout the community.
