COUNTY News:
The next meeting of the Discoveries Action Team (DAT) is 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Thursday, March 12 in Council Chambers.
This month, the only item on the agenda is for the Place-Making (enhancing Los Alamos experiences) and Place-Marketing (promoting Los Alamos experiences) subgroups to entertain new ideas brought forward.
Participants are asked to bring their own lunch.
Those interested in submitting a new idea to be considered are asked to email discover@lacnm.us before March 12 and complete a form with some scope, background and concepts for the idea, and whether it relates to Place-Making or Place-Marketing.
No action will be taken at the March 12 meeting; this is an opportunity for members to ask questions, make suggestions or provide other comments in an exchange of information. New ideas require a “champion” as outlined in the form – typically this is the individual presenting their idea who would like to see it through to its conclusion, if it is selected.
New ideas will be considered for selection at the next meeting in April. More details will be provided to individuals presenting their ideas at the March meeting.
The Discoveries branding initiative is designed to strengthen the reputation of Los Alamos and provide a place for community members to collaborate to make Los Alamos a wonderful place to live, work, play and stay.
Discoveries Action Team goals include:
- Enhance the Los Alamos “Discoveries” experience;
- Promote what makes Los Alamos unique;
- Create a network of community ambassadors; and
- Market together with a unified voice and shared message.
