County Council Rejects Call For Independent Audit

Los Alamos County Councilors, from left, Steven Girrens, Vice Chair Susan O’Leary, Chair Rick Reiss, David Izraelevitz and Pete Sheehey at this evening’s meeting at the White Rock Fire Station. O’Leary called for an independent audit of the County’s personnel policies following a string of lawsuits. Council voted 4-2 against the measure. O’Leary and Sheehey voted for it, Girrens, Reiss, Izraelevitz and Henderson voted against it and James Chrobocinski, who seconded the motion, abstained explaining that he was too emotionally involved because his brother, Randy Foster, was involved in one of the lawsuits. Check back for full details on the discussion and vote on this issue. Photo by Carol A. Clark/ladailypost.com
