COUNTY News:

Los Alamos County’s Sustainability Manager Angelica Gurule is sharing with the community the Climate Action Plan survey results, available now on the Greenhouse Gas Emissions Study website. The survey results will inform the first-ever County Climate Action Plan and provide input regarding how the County should direct funding.

Gurule explains that the survey, held in September 2023, asked responders to prioritize their environmental concerns, identify measures the county could implement, and how the County should approach climate mitigation. Survey results will be used to develop targets and strategies for the Climate Action Plan, anticipated to be completed in 2024.

Citizens are encouraged to attend the Environmental Sustainability Board meeting on Monday, Dec. 11 at 5:30 p.m. in Council Chambers for a presentation and update on the greenhouse gas emissions inventory. Public comment is welcome.

Additional information regarding the Climate Action Plan can be accessed at the County’s Sustainability website: www.lacnm.com/sustainability.
