COUNTY News:
In observance of our 250th Independence Day, Los Alamos County government offices will join other federal, state, and local governments and close Friday, July 3.
While the County’s administrative offices, Atomic City Transit fixed bus routes, and the Environmental Services division are closed on Friday, the following facilities will be open or have modified hours during the holiday weekend:
- Atomic City Transit – No fixed bus routes or Dial-a-Ride service will be available. Regular services will resume Monday, July 6. | July 3 Concert Series service Only – 6:30 – 9:40 p.m. The last buses will leave for North Mesa and North Community at 9:35 p.m., and White Rock at 9:40 p.m. | Bandelier Shuttle service will continue to operate within the park during the holiday. | ACT MyRide (dial-a-ride service) will operate on July 3 from 6 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. To schedule, call (505) 661-Ride or book on the app.
- White Rock Branch/Mesa Public Library – Open 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. July 3 | Closed July 4
- Leisure Lagoon – Open 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. July 3 | Closed July 4
- Piñon Park Pool – Open 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. July 3 | Open 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. July 4
- Golf Course – Open 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. July 3 and 4
- Environmental Services – Trash and brush cart service will be suspended on Friday, July 3. If your regular collection day is on the observed holiday, please place your carts curbside on Wednesday, July 1 for service. The Eco Station and Overlook Convenience Center will be closed on Saturday, July 4; however, they will be open during regular hours on Friday, July 3.
Don’t miss the 4th of July Spectacular at Overlook Park, in White Rock from 4 p.m. to 9:30 p.m., with music, activities, vendors, and more! The headline band, Matchbox Twenty Too, begins at 7 p.m., followed by an extended drone show at 9 p.m.
