County Announces Lemon Lot Online Permitting Option

COUNTY News:

As of this week, individuals who live or work in Los Alamos County can reserve online a space in the County’s Lemon Lot through the Los Alamos County Park, Recreation and Facility Reservation website.

The Lemon Lot, next to the Sullivan Field parking lot on Diamond Drive between Canyon Road and Trinity Drive, is where local residents sell used vehicles.

“For the convenience of our citizens it is no longer necessary to visit the Customer Care Center in person to demonstrate vehicle ownership and obtain a permit. Everything can be conducted online,” Deputy Utilities Manager Robert Westervelt said. “Citizens can visit https://lacnm.com/LemonLot, create an account under ‘Member Login’ and then select ‘Camping and Vendor Permits’.

Under the ‘Rental Class’ dropdown box, Westervelt says that patrons should select the Lemon Lot option that matches the vehicle they are planning to sell, select the reservation dates, and then ‘Search’. From there it’s as simple as choosing an available space and making the payment online with a credit card.

“The permit is provided electronically to print and place on the vehicle dashboard,” Westervelt said.

Westervelt adds that while permits are still for 10-day increments, they are no longer reserved in set time blocks. This means a reservation can be made to begin at any time, as long as there is an available space. Los Alamos County Parks staff is available at 505.662.8170 to answer questions about the reservation website.
