COUNTY News:

Following concerns expressed about pedestrian safety along Central Avenue, five on-street parking spaces located near crosswalks between 15th Street and 20th Street have been removed through placement of yellow diagonal/crosshatch markings and yellow curb to indicate parking prohibition.

This change was implemented to enhance pedestrian visibility at crosswalks and improve sight lines for both drivers and pedestrians.

Ensuring clear visibility at crosswalk approaches is an important safety measure, and these adjustments are part of ongoing efforts to create safer travel conditions for all roadway users.

The County asks motorists to observe the parking prohibition in these areas to maintain safety for pedestrians.
