Council Wraps Up ‘Parking Lot’ Items

Public Works Director Philo Shelton discusses the transit service costs for running service to the ski hill and on weekends. Council tentatively approved 7-0 to keep the budget intact for Atomic City Transit, regarding bus service to the Ski Hill and weekend service. Council voted 7-0 to tentatively approve the Lodgers Tax Fund, specifically with respect to the Los Alamos and White Rock Visitor Centers and promotional Services and Council voted 7-0 to tentatively approve the Progress Through Partnering program. The Progress Through Partnering is an effort in which the County reached out to neighboring communities to promote regionalism and to further Los Alamos County Strategic Goals. One project instituted was the development of the REDI. The County contracted with the Regional Development Corporation (RDC) to act as the primary facilitator of the plan.
