From left, Los Alamos County Manager Anne Laurent presents to council Tuesday the long range financial plan for FY 2027 while Chief Financial Officer Melissa Dadzie and Administrative Services Director Helen Perraglio listen. Council approved 6-1 with Councilor David Reagor opposed the $350,220,288 budget for FY 2027. Reagor explained he opposed the Department of Public Utilities’ budget and felt the capital improvement projects budgeted in FY 2027 warranted more discussion. Regarding the items that were placed in the ‘parking lot’ to be reviewed further, council decided to take no action on the $37,350 increase in their budget for travel. The other item, budgeting money for a bike park on North Mesa, council voted 5-2 with Councilors Theresa Cull and Beverly Neal-Clinton opposed to reallocate $1.4 million for the park. Before voting on the final budget, Council Chair Randall Ryti thanked County staff for all their efforts in developing the budget.
