Visit Coronado Historic Site in August for a variety of programming, including First Sunday, Ranger Read & Learn, What’s Growing on…Kuaua, and an artist demonstration.
First Sunday: Turkeys, Sunday, Aug. 3, 2025, 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. – Learn how the people of Kuaua Pueblo created turkey feather blankets with archaeologist Mary Weahkee and visit with a live turkey. Admission is free to NM residents and children 16 and younger.
Ranger Read & Learn at Martha Liebert Public Library, 10–11 a.m., Saturday, Aug. 16, 2025 – Listen to the story “Who was Here?: Discovering Wild Animal Tracks” by Mia Posada, then play an animal track matching game, use stamps to create animal tracks, and play with model magic clay. This program is free.
What’s Growing on…Kuaua?, Wednesday, Aug. 27, 2025, 10:30 a.m. – 12 p.m. – Join Ranger Anthony for a demonstration of different gardening techniques. Visitors will be working in the garden as part of the program. Included with admission. Free to NM seniors 60+.
Artist Demonstration with Leslie Robledo (Hopi), Wicker Plaque Weaving and Yucca Baskets, Saturday, Aug. 30, 2025, 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. – Stop by to watch Leslie Robledo (Hopi) demonstrate how to make wicker plaque weaving and create yucca baskets. Included with admission and free to children 16 and younger.
