This year, the Los Alamos Co+op Market is expanding the annual Health and Wellness Fair and making this weekend a local celebration–Local Fest, Sept. 6-7.
The weekend’s activities include demonstrations by local vendors and community resources as well as discounts from 5-50 percent on all local products. The Co+op defines local as products grown or produced in within 300 miles of the Co+op or New Mexico grown. In the store, local products are labeled along with the miles from the Co+op, so a visit to the Co+op can also include education on our local food economy.
Local Fest schedule of events:
- Saturday, Sept. 6 – Health and Wellness Fair 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
- Local experts in: Maternity, Yoga, Acupuncture, Massage, Detoxification, Nutrition, Reflexology, Skincare and more.
- Sunday, Sept. 7 – Fiber and Farm Education noon to 4 p.m.
- Camino de Paz School & Farm – experiential education
- Espanola Valley Fiber Arts Center – spinning demonstrations
All weekend – building the local food economy – discounts of 5-50 percent on all local items
