Two special events next Wednesday will mark Chamisa Elementary School’s 45th birthday.
The first event is 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 13 in Chamisa’s gymnasium with entertainment and staff recognition planned.
Sixth grade students will sell jewelry, baked goods and fruit for a fundraiser.
In addition, there will be birthday cupcakes for everyone, so one or two parent volunteers per class are needed to help make cupcakes – email your name and teacher to Lauritzens@att.net.
The second event includes a community potluck at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 13, with a special dessert contest celebrating the themes of 45 years, Jungle or Cheetah Champions.
Los Alamos High School Naval JROTC will kick off the evening with a color guard.
The evening also will include visiting dignitaries, Chamisa Alumni and the community is welcome to attend.
