Community Invited to Share Chamisa’s 45th Birthday!

CHAMISA News:

Two special events next Wednesday will mark Chamisa Elementary School’s 45th birthday.

The first event is 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 13 in Chamisa’s gymnasium with entertainment and staff recognition planned.

Sixth grade students will sell jewelry, baked goods and fruit for a fundraiser.

In addition, there will be birthday cupcakes for everyone, so one or two parent volunteers per class are needed to help make cupcakes – email your name and teacher to Lauritzens@att.net.

The second event includes a community potluck at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 13, with a special dessert contest celebrating the themes of 45 years, Jungle or Cheetah Champions.

Los Alamos High School Naval JROTC will kick off the evening with a color guard.

The evening also will include visiting dignitaries, Chamisa Alumni and the community is welcome to attend.

Send stories and photos about Chamisa experiences to Lauritzens@att.net.

Bring a dessert at 6 p.m., along with a pot luck dish or purchase dinner from Bandelier Grill:
