IHM News:

The parish community of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church has helped children and families in foster care, homeless children, and other impoverished youth and adults in need, in Northern New Mexico for more than 10 years through its Angel Tree drive.

Each year the Youth Ministry office receives numerous requests from different agencies in Northern New Mexico. Agencies include: Bienvenidos (https://bienvenidosfoodpantry.org/), Help New Mexico (https://helpnm.com/), Sojourners (http://www.thelifelink.org/sojourners.html), Rio Arriba County Kids and Circle of Life and some local organizations.

Two tags are created for each individual (clothing or a necessity and a toy or Christmas wish) and the tags are placed on a tree in the rear of the Church. This year the need for help has grown. There are more than 1,100 tags, so IHM is reaching out to the Los Alamos community for help.

To help with the gift drive: take as many tags as you wish. Please only purchase one gift per tag. Wrap and securely attach the tag to the gift. Return the gifts by Sunday, Dec. 9 to IHM (3700 Canyon Road and place them under the tree. The Church is open 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Thursday, and 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday, and of course during Mass times on the weekend.

If a tag becomes lost or misplaced, feel free to call the Youth Ministry Office at 505.661.8303 to see if we can help you recover the missing information and create a new tag. Pro-tip: Take a quick picture of your tag with your phone.

Thank you in advance for your generosity.
