Los Alamos Medical Center celebrated 60 years of service to the community with an open house and ribbon cutting ceremony Wednesday afternoon.

Six decades of photographs depicting employees as well as facility renovations filled the lobby, which was decorated with balloons and tables topped with food, drinks and a big birthday cake.

CEO Feliciano Jiron with his wife and children, LAMC trustees, doctors, nurses and staff joined in the festivities and mingled with community members and civic leaders.

Free health screenings and informational booths lined the hallway and cafeteria areas where friendly staff chatted with the public.
