Common Cause NM Names Mason Graham Policy Director

Policy Director Mason Graham

CCNM News:

Mason Graham was named this week as policy director for Common Cause New Mexico (CCNM), a non-partisan group dedicated to upholding the core values of American democracy—an equal voice for all, honest and accountable government, and access to the ballot.

Graham comes to Common Cause from the New Mexico Black Leadership Council and the New Mexico Black Voters Collaborative, where he worked as the policy analyst and project manager to engage Black/African American voters in issues that affect communities of color.

In that post he assembled a coalition of African American leaders and organizations around the state to participate in redistricting, and organized candidate forums to address issues important to the African American community in Albuquerque. Before joining the non-profit world, he worked as a senior marketing strategist for five years.

“I am excited to join the fight to preserve democracy and good government,” Graham said. “I intend to work in collaboration with other community groups, citizens and elected officials to rebuild trust in our system.”

Graham will be working on advancing the modernization of the New Mexico Legislature, creating a vision for democracy reform in the state, as well as developing ideas for legislation and advocacy strategies. Graham lives in Albuquerque with his wife, Nicole, newborn daughter, Murphy, and their dog, Blue.

Common Cause is a nonpartisan grassroots organization dedicated to upholding the core values of American democracy. CCNM works to create open, honest, and accountable government that serves the public interest; to promote equal rights, opportunity, and representation for all; and empower all people to make their voices heard as equals in the political process.
