The New Mexico Department of Transportation (NMDOT) has posted a 2014-2017 State Transportation Improvement Program (STIP) amendment on the internet asking for public comment until April 26.
The document is posted on the NMDOT website at http://dot.state.nm.us/. Email comments can be sent to the NMDOT STIP coordinator at Rebecca.Maes@state.nm.us.
The Fourth Amendment is an out-of-cycle amendment to STIP. The program will serve as a four-year plan for the state’s federal aid highway program and, in accordance with federal legislation, contains proposed road and bridge projects. Projects on the list are on federal and state highways, designated by roads with I, U.S. or NM.
In addition, NMDOT will solicit final public comment in conjunction with the State Transportation Commission’s meeting in Albuquerque Thursday, April 17.
Projects included in the STIP are funded with a combination of federal, state and/or local funds. NMDOT, working in cooperation with state, local and tribal transportation agencies as well as regional planning organizations, develops the STIP.
