LAPS Foundation News:
Wish you could show a particular teacher a little extra love? Now you can.
The Los Alamos Public Schools Foundation is once again sponsoring a community-wide campaign to “Shower” LAPS teachers with much-needed classroom supplies and resources.
From Feb. 14 through March 17, community members are invited to visit https://showerlove26.givesmart.com to donate any amount toward a teacher’s wish list item.
Once a donation goal for an item is fulfilled, the LAPS Foundation will purchase the item directly for the teacher. It’s a simple, meaningful way to show appreciation and provide direct support where it’s needed most.
In addition to supporting teachers, donations have a direct and lasting impact on students by providing enhanced learning opportunities that would not be possible without community support.
Last spring, the community donated more than $14,000 to help schools purchase educational materials, including books, curriculum resources, art supplies, outdoor learning items, and more. With the Foundation’s matching funds, nearly $28,000 was invested back into LAPS classrooms!
The LAPS Foundation hopes to build on that success this year and encourages the community to participate once again.
Let’s shower our teachers with love! View teachers’ wish lists at https://showerlove26.givesmart.com or donate by texting showerlove26 to 76278.
