From Colliers New Mexico:
- Transformational Redevelopment Project Seen As Key To Re-energizing Los Alamos’ Main Central Avenue Corridor and Downtown
Colliers New Mexico-El Paso veteran broker, Jyl DeHaven, Vice President of Northern New Mexico, has been selected to handle the leasing for an exciting transformational redevelopment of a historic property in Los Alamos.
Built by the federal government in the early 1950s when Los Alamos was still a federally owned city, the former CB Fox building at 1735 Central Ave. will contain more than 28,000 square feet of space when completed.
The developer — 1735 Central Investments, LLC — is a collaborative partnership between Specialized Capital Partners, LLC development group out of Chicago, headed by Steve Miszkowicz, and the building’s current owner, Tigard Pacific RE, LLC.
The redevelopment will transform the property into a vibrant multi-use destination designed to serve both residents and visitors.
Planned features include:
- An open food court, performance venue, and bakery café, with supporting kitchen and auxiliary uses on the first floor;
- Retail storefront and local vendor spaces in the food court area and on the Central Avenue storefront side of the first floor;
- A boutique hotel on the second floor; and
- A full-service rooftop bar and restaurant located in a glass pavilion with covered outdoor patio space, all commanding panoramic views.
“We are grateful to Los Alamos County, Anne Laurent, County Manager, and Elias Isaacson, Community
Development Director, for their guidance and support,” DeHaven said. “The development partnership sees this as a key piece of renovation in the main corridor of Los Alamos. This project should bring great energy to the County.”
Miszkowicz said, “We believe it will inject new energy into the Central Avenue corridor and provide a dynamic gathering place for the community.”
