SANTA FE — Students and their climate change solutions will take the stage 5-6 p.m. Thursday, April 28 during the 3rd annual Climate Innovation Challenge virtual Student Showcase.
The keynote speaker is Armon Alex, a 22-year-old accomplished science communicator, ocean conservationist and TEDx speaker from Corpus Christi, Texas.
The Climate Innovation Challenge (CIC) Showcase is the culmination of a free, NGSS-aligned, STEAM climate change competition and curriculum created and produced by Climate Advocates Voces Unidas (CAVU).
The CIC program cultivates student leaders who can think innovatively and communicate effectively about addressing problems that arise in our changing climate. Students produced two to four-minute videos or presentations that evaluate a specific climate vulnerability or impact and present a creative adaptation solution.
In its third year, CIC grew to serve nearly 1,500 students and more than 200 projects were submitted. A panel of judges evaluated the submissions for awards in 14 categories.
This event is free and open to the public and will stream online at YouTube.com/cavuorg.
