Arts & Crafts Fair @ Fuller Lodge 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
It’s time for the 35th Annual Summer Arts & Crafts Fair at the Fuller Lodge Art Center on Saturday, August 11, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The fair takes place in conjunction with the Los Alamos County Rodeo in the grassy park behind Fuller Lodge. There are food booths, a bouncy house and bubble space all day across the street around Ashley Pond.

The Los Alamos Teen Center in cooperation with the LA Co-op is holding a Musical Extravaganza featuring three student bands and a special performance by local rock band – Syzygy. Silent Auction, dunk tank (drench your favorite community figures) old time photo booth, bake sale, hamburgers/hot dogs/ice cream and beverages for sale. All proceeds will go to The Los Alamos Teen Center music program for new equipment.

PEEC 20th Annual Los Alamos Butterfly Count 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
New Mexico butterfly guru Steve Cary will identify butterflies and discuss their habits and life histories. No experience necessary. Three habitats will be counted – mesa top, streamside, and high altitude Camp May. Meet at Burnt Mesa Trailhead, Bandelier, on State Road 4. Close-focusing binoculars and sturdy shoes recommended. Mountain Lion Researcher Ken Logan @ PEEC 2 p.m.
Mountain Lion expert Ken Logan, of the Colorado Division of Wildlife, comes to PEEC to talk about these beautiful animals–and the danger they present to humans. He’ll share insights from his years of research and have lots of pictures. Free-no registration required.
