How beautiful life is when you get the opportunity to enjoy a day surrounded by those you love and those who love you most.

On Sunday, longtime Los Alamos resident Chuck Tallman, a 2016 Los Alamos Living Treasure, celebrated his 95th birthday with family and friends enjoying good food, good music, and good company from the community.

Tallman lives the Rotary Club motto, “Service Above Self”. His birthday party provided him the opportunity to donate to four local charities: the Los Alamos Rotary Club, Los Alamos Choral Society, United Church of Los Alamos (Youth Missions) and the Lasses and Lads of Enchantment.

The Lasses and Lads performed a capella vocals, and the Equinox string quartet performed an elegant array of selections and musical interludes.

Those in attendance came together to celebrate a true gentleman, who, along with the Landshulz family, has provided the gift of music to the community many times throughout the last year.

Topping off the day’s festivities, family and guests played a game of birthday trivia from 1931, the year Tallman was born, enjoyed delicious cupcakes displayed in the number 95, and gathered for a special family photograph.
