Chaves County Commissioners Appoint IPANM Board President Jared Hembree To Fill District 59 House Seat

Jared Hembree

IPANM News:

The Chaves County Board of Commissioners has nominated Independent Petroleum Association of New Mexico (IPANM) Board President Jared Hembree (R) as successor to the New Mexico House District 59 seat previously held by State Rep. Greg Nibert (R-Roswell).

Commissioners made the decision recently at the Chaves County Administrative Center at Roswell, and because District 59 lies entirely inside Chaves County, the Commissioner’s nominee will be the only name submitted to the governor for appointment.

Due to the appointment, Hembree will formally suspend his work at IPANM’s Board President at his request. Hembree will be sending a letter to all IPANM members to further discuss his appointment and  plans moving forward with his work at IPANM.

While no decisions have been made at this time, IPANM’s Executive Board will be discussing the appointment of an interim Board President to take over from Hembree as the 30-Day Legislative Session begins on Tuesday.

“Jared Hembree will be an outstanding House Representative for his district and for the entire State of New Mexico,” IPANM Executive Director Jim Winchester said. “His background in oil & gas will be important given that 50% of all state revenues come from industry. I’ve also personally witnessed Jared’s integrity and ability to work with people of all backgrounds and different viewpoints. His calm, thoughtful, and deliberative manner will be greatly appreciated in Santa Fe.”

Hembree is a partner at one of IPANM’s founding member companies Hinkle Shanor LLP.
