This chart shows the number of COVID-related deaths per 1,000 diagnoses versus date in the United States. For each data point, the mortality rate was calculated using the total number of diagnoses and the total number of deaths during the preceding six month period. The number of deaths has declined tenfold: from 58 per 1,000 diagnoses during the six month period ending June 1, 2020 to 5.8 per 1,000 during the six month period ending July 1, 2022.
