Chart 622: Los Alamos Now Green On CDC COVID Map

Today, the CDC released its weekly update to the COVID-19 community level map. The CDC framework designates community level based on diagnoses and hospitalization levels (link). Masks are recommended indoors in counties with the highest (red) community level. Masks also are recommended for at-risk (for example, immunocompromised) individuals in counties with the intermediate (yellow) risk level. Los Alamos (link) moved from yellow to green thanks to a decline in the number of diagnoses from 248 weekly cases per 100,000 to 124 per 100,000 (the CDC threshold is 200). The fraction of inpatient beds used by COVID-19 patients went down as well: from 9.1 percent to 5.7 percent. Source: Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Map: mapchart.net.
