COMMUNITY News:

The Betty Ehart Senior Activity Center in Los Alamos will host a special Charity Chair Yoga Class from 2:45–3:30 p.m., Monday, Nov. 10, in recognition of the service and sacrifices of U.S. Veterans.

This community event will raise funds for the Veterans’ Yoga Project, a national nonprofit that supports veterans and their families through yoga, mindfulness, and resilience training. Donations are appreciated, but all are welcome regardless of ability to contribute.

Yoga has long supported active duty and retired military personnel in transitioning to civilian life. Gentle movement, breathwork, and guided meditation can reduce stress, support emotional regulation, and help ease the physical and mental impacts of service-related trauma.

The class will be led by Heather Quinn, a local yoga instructor with extensive training in trauma-informed yoga. Her goal is to offer a safe, supportive practice suitable for all levels of mobility. No prior yoga experience needed.

Join in honoring Veterans, supporting wellbeing, and strengthening the community through mindful movement. To learn more, contact the Betty Ehart Senior Activity Center or visit their front desk.
