Chappel: Taking A Moment To Thank Community

By JASON CHAPPEL
Candidate
Los Alamos County Council

As we head into tomorrow’s primary election, I want to take a moment to thank the people of Los Alamos and White Rock.

Over the last several months, I’ve had the opportunity to attend events, answer questions, and have conversations with residents from across our communities. Whether you support me, support another candidate, or are still deciding, I am grateful to everyone who has taken the time to engage in the process.

When I decided to run for County Council, I did so because I believe local government works best when it stays focused on the people it serves. Throughout this campaign, I’ve consistently heard many of the same concerns from residents: they want responsible spending, greater transparency, and a community where local businesses can succeed.

Those priorities have shaped my campaign from the beginning.

I believe we can spend taxpayer dollars more wisely by reducing waste and taking a hard look at how and when we rely on outside consultants. I believe the public deserves to be involved earlier in important decisions, not after the course has already been set. And I believe we should be looking for ways to support local businesses rather than creating additional barriers for the people investing in our community.

Most importantly, I believe elected officials should be accessible. Listening shouldn’t stop after Election Day, and public service shouldn’t begin and end at a council meeting. If elected, I will continue to be available, approachable, and accountable to the people I serve.

Tomorrow’s primary is an important step in the process, and I would be honored to earn your vote and the opportunity to continue this campaign into the general election.

No matter what happens tomorrow, we’ll still be neighbors on Wednesday morning. We’ll still shop at the same stores, attend the same events, and care about the same community. That’s one of the things I love most about Los Alamos County. We may not always agree on every issue, but we all share a stake in this place we call home.

If you’d like to learn more about my positions, ask a question, or reach out directly, please visit ElectJasonChappel.com. My website includes links to my Facebook page and direct contact information because I believe public service starts with being accessible to the public.

Thank you for your time, your support, and your participation in our local democracy.

Respectfully,

Jason Chappel
