Chamber Hosts Annual Fundraiser Golf Tournament Friday

The Los Alamos Chamber of Commerce is holding the annual Chamber Golf Tournament Benefitting United Way of Northern New Mexico Friday, Oct.10 at the Los Alamos County Golf Course.

Registration for the tournament begins at 7:30 a.m. while breakfast burritos are served. The tournament begins with a shotgun start at 9 a.m. and is followed by lunch, awards, door prizes and a silent auction at 12:30 p.m. Golfers are invited to sign up to play in the tournament as individuals or as foursomes. Registration is $100 per person ($80 for golf club members). Registration includes breakfast, golf, cart and lunch. Sign up now at losalamoschamber.com/events

The tournament is a four-person scramble using 25 percent of team handicap and will feature prize holes, contest holes, door prizes, and a silent auction. Mulligans will be available for a small fee.

Big-ticket prizes include the chance to win $25,000 in a hole-in-one contest. There are three additional hole-in-one contests giving players the chance to win a $500 VISA gift card, a Kindle Fire HDX or a set of Nike VRS Convert 2 irons.

For players interested in improving their score, two holes will host a member of the Northern New Mexico College Golf Team who can be hired for a small donation to hit the ball on the player’s behalf.

The Chamber Golf Tournament is an opportunity to wrap up your work week by having fun while raising funds for a good cause. Players can also do a little business networking at the same time.

Breakfast is sponsored by Los Alamos National Bank, lunch is sponsored by the Rio Grande Sun and Plateau Properties, the awards are sponsored by Del Norte Credit Union, and beverages are sponsored by SMSI. Other sponsorships ranging from $100 to $400 are still available.
