Celebration Naming The Ross And Lola Ramsey Stage At Duane Smith Auditorium Draws Near

By Jenny McCumber

As the celebration of the Ross and Lola Ramsey Stage Naming nears, Los Alamos High School alumni near and far continue to give donations and share their memories about the Ramseys and the impact they had on former students.

The campaign to Light up the Stage for the Ramseys is still open for those who would like to donate. This project serves both to honor the memory of the Ramseys and their impact on students who graduated decades ago and also as a current impact for students who are in the Olions program now. The donations so generously given have been used to provide state of the art stage lighting (which will be used for the first time during the Pippin performance), a plaque to honor the memory of the Ramseys and their impact, and an annual scholarship for a graduating senior who has been involved in the Olions program.

Many thanks to all in our community who have made donations thus far, including the Duane Smith Auditorium Endowment, managed by Los Alamos Community Foundation. We would also like to specially recognize Peg Watt Larson and her husband Paul, Jock Mills and Paul Horpedahl for their roles in this special celebration.

Please join us at 6 p.m. on Friday, March 17 in the Duane Smith Auditorium lobby, prior to the 7 p.m. Olions performance of Pippin. You can also honor the Ramseys’ legacy by attending an Olions performance! Tickets for Pippin can be purchased here. They can also be purchased at the door on Friday night.
