SANTA FE —Ten years ago, Meow Wolf was a DIY art collective of misfit dreamers, dumpster diving, throwing warehouse parties, and crafting unbelievable worlds together.
Since the moment the collective drew the words “Meow” and “Wolf” out of a hat in a fittingly absurdist naming ritual, the inception of their first permanent exhibition, backed by George R.R. Martin, House of Eternal Return, skyrocketed the group to fame and helped pioneer immersive art on a mass scale.
Meow Wolf has since transformed into a national B Corporation with millions of visitors, hundreds of artists of every medium, five permanent exhibitions, and plans to open in the country’s cultural capitals of Los Angeles and New York.
From 6 p.m.–???, March 5, Meow Wolf celebrates that first permanent portal in Santa Fe and everything it set in motion with a special 10th Birthday edition of Adulti-Verse, inviting guests 21+ to step inside House of Eternal Return after dark for an expanded evening of DJs, memories, and pride.
It takes an unparalleled feat of collaboration to fuse the work of so many artists into something cohesive, yet still showcasing a variety of voices, otherworldly and yet Santa Fean, accessible and yet esoteric. Let’s celebrate the magnitude of pulling off that achievement not once, not twice, but five times, and ten years of tireless work. Let’s party.
