Celebrate Holiday Season At Fuller Lodge Open House

The annual Fuller Lodge Open House helps kick off the holiday season as well as the Winterfest festivities.

The  Los Alamos Arts Council, along with the Art Center at Fuller Lodge and the Los Alamos Historical Society are hosting the event Saturday at the Lodge, Los Alamos’ best known historic building and its cultural and artistic center.

The community is welcome to check out Fuller Lodge, which will be fully decked out for the holidays. The event begins at 9:30 a.m. with a Historical Society Docent Tour. Additional Other tours will be held at noon and 1:45 p.m. The  Chamisa SingSations will gather around the piano at 10 a.m. for carols. At 10:45 a.m., the BESC Hillstrummers will perform with their ukuleles followed at 11:30 a.m. by the Los Alamos Flutes. At 12:15 p.m. there will be a holiday program with Shashi and Joy Charles on guitar and cello. Juanita Madland and friends will host a sing-a-long beginning at 12:30 p.m. At 1:30 p.m. Becky and Kent Scarborough, along with Rheta Moazzami, will play Pachelbel’s “Canon in D.”

In addition to music, at 10 a.m. the Los Alamos Family Council will host a Holiday Cookie Walk. Provide a donation and receive a box and select a dozen holiday cookies.

The Historical Society Book Store as well as the Los Alamos Animal Shelter and Boy Scout Troop 71 will sell items that would make great gifts. A docent tour will round out the programs for the day.
