PEEC News:

PEEC’s annual Earth Day Festival is 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, April 22 at the Los Alamos Nature Center, 2600 Canyon Road.

As always, there will be many family-friendly, earth-conscious, interactive booths and vendors and food from Manko Native American Fusion and Muy Salsas.

Additionally, representatives from Los Alamos National Laboratory, state agencies and Los Alamos County departments will be present along with local artists and businesses and more.

Festival entertainment, sponsored by Enterprise Bank & Trust, features the lovable, popular, Recycle Man, performing 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. and the Hill Stompers, playing at noon.

Atomic City Transit will again provide bus service from the Justice Center to the nature center. The Zero Waste Team will play short films in the planetarium during the festival. Everyone is encouraged to wander through there if they’re interested in earth-friendly and environmental conservation themes or if they just need a quiet place to be for a while during the festivities.

After the festival, at 2 p.m. and 3 p.m., “Life: A Cosmic Story” will be screened in the planetarium.

Visit peecnature.org for more information on the festival and other PEEC events.
