Celebrate Earth Day And Oppenheimer April 22!

Learn more about “Oppie” and the J. Robert Oppenheimer Memorial Committee (JROMC) at the JROMC booth and take a photo or selfie with a life-size cutout of the birthday boy at the PEEC Earth Day Festival Saturday at the Los Alamos Nature Center.

Oppenheimer T-shirts and ticket passes to SALA’s July film series will be available for donations, which support scholarships and STEM programs.

The celebration continues at SALA Event Center. Come to SALA April 22 or 23 for a world premiere!

The world premiere of the documentary film, “Oppenheimer, After Trinity” will be held Saturday and Sunday at SALA. The award-winning New Mexico producer, Larry Sheffield, teamed up with SALA owner Allan Saenz to present the first public screenings of the documentary film.

The screenings will be at 7:15 p.m. Saturday and 3 p.m. Sunday. For both screenings, the producer will give pre-film presentations and hold post-film question and answer sessions. Information and tickets are available on SALA’s website (sala.losalamos.com) and at the SALA box office.

Proceeds will benefit three nonprofits:

  • JROMC;
  • Los Alamos Historical Society; and
  • The Oppenheimer Project.

JROMC will have a table in the lobby with information about the committee and ways people can help support it.
