Join a community celebration featuring a classic car show, New Mexican vintage rock music, Native artisans, and more, all in honor of Route 66’s centennial this year 10 a.m.–3 p.m., Sunday, May 3; Talk at 11 a.m.; DK and the Affordables performance from 1–3 p.m.
Enjoy a classic car show by the Rainbow Roadrunners, a mini history talk, and music by DK and the Affordables at Coronado Historic Site’s Route 66 Centennial Celebration. Co-presented with the Friends of Coronado and Jemez Historic Sites, the event will also feature a Native arts and crafts market, food vendors, an animal display by Bernalillo High School FFA, guided tours of the site and Painted Kiva, and a short talk about the creation of Coronado Historic Site and the Coronado Cuatro Centennial Celebration.
Admission is free to New Mexico residents and $7 for non-residents. Also free to children 16 and younger, Tribal members, NM disabled veterans, NM foster families, MNMF members, and FCJHS members.
This year marks the 100th anniversary of Route 66 and Coronado Historic Site celebrates the history and legacy of this route, which connected communities, stimulated business growth, and introduced the state’s unique blend of cultures to the world.
