Catch The Wellness Wave: Senior Health Fair May 14

The Los Alamos Retired and Senior Organization (LARSO) is hosting a Senior Health Fair, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday, May 14, at the Betty Ehart Senior Activity Center. This program is designed for community members older than 55, as well as families and caregivers who support the seniors of Los Alamos County.

A variety of community and health organizations will be represented, ranging from assisted living, in-home care, health & wellness specialties as well as general nursing services and health therapies and even environmental education.

There will also be a series of mini-lectures and a drawing during the fair:

  • 10:30-11a.m. – Jack Allison (Los Alamos Visiting Nurse Service), The 3Hs to Aging in Place
  • 11-11:30 a.m. – Desiree Jimenez (Cooperative Extension Service), Osteoporosis and You
  • 11:30 a.m. to noon – Michele Stizza (Cooperative Extension Service), Tips for Type 2 Diabetes
  • Noon to 12:30 p.m. – Activity: Fill Up Your Senior Fair Passport
  • 12:30-1p.m. – Activity: Prize Drawing

Participating organizations will provide information, resources, and activities as well as food and prize drawings so the older adult community in Los Alamos County can catch the wellness wave. Please join this exciting event and plan for a healthful and enriching year ahead.
